FFF No Coloring Challenge

This challenge is WAY outta my comfort zone. It was so hard not to color but I managed. Kind of a simple card, but I thought it came out nice. I used a nestabilitie to cut out the background and used some pattern paper to accent. I was going for a more sepia tone but it just didn't want to go that way. I think sometimes these stamps and layouts have a mind of their own on how they want to be used. :)

DeNami One Layer Challenge #10

So, DeNami is having another challenge for their awesome stamps, ONE LAYER!! Wow so I was thinking of what to do then I found it! Masking! I love to play with masking (and the Post It "labels" make the BEST masks of all, cause the whole thing sticks and removes without rippin paper!!). So I masked the top portion and punched a hole in the mask and stuck that to the paper then inked the night sky. Then I flipped the mask around, stamped my super cool Pirate Chickie, and then masked him and some sand  and inked the water. Then I switched it again, masked the chickie and water and inked the sand, and used a sand stamp to add bigger pebbles. Then lifted all my masks and voila! Chickie hanging out on the beach in the moonlight. I then drew some waves and added some stickles to the water where the moon would be shining, and colored my Pirate with markers and added some stickles to his beak and sword. Lastly, I stamped some DeNami palm trees in black then shaded them with a brown and wrote my sentiment: "peace and quiet" in blue. This was a super fun challenge! Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed!

"Crackled" Picture Frame

So every month we hold our ATV club meeting, for this one, I made a frame for our raffle. The frame is from Michaels, I sanded it so the wood was more smooth, then I painted an ivory base coat in Acrylic paints. Next I painted a coat of crackle medium. Lastly, I painted the orange paint over the crackle so the orange will be cracked. Then I used an embossed image of a quad, cut some wire for the flat. Painted on some dust and dunes for the border, popped up the quad and then stamped our club name on the right side. It was a lot of fun and the raffle winner loved it!

Thanks for looking!

Oldie But Goodie

I thought I would share this little thank you card I made. I basically found a bunch of scraps and thought this would work well with the Stampin Up Crab set, I think it is called Snappy Crab??? I will check and update this when I find out. I stamped the crab in blue, cut him our and popped him up, I took the twine and put it through the eyelets then wrapped it around his claws. Lastly the googly eyes I had on hand happened to match the blue so there you have it. Who said crabs had to be red?? :)

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

My Parents celebrated their 35th anniversary this year, and so I created a card from them. I used my newly purchased Woodsy Mae to use along with an old quad stamp. I used a picture of Priest Lake, Id I took as the background, Mae is representing my Mom who likes to chill while my Dad goes riding (and usually crashing at some point). We all ride quads but sometimes us girls like to hang out with a cocktail while the boys go crazy. :) I don't have the copic marker numbers I used but I will try to get that info for next time. The Stampin Up colors I used was Chocolate Chip (card base) and Not Quite Navy for the accents. The patterned paper in the background was a scrap I had from Stampin Up, not sure what set it was from.

Happy Easter!!

Here is the Happy Easter card I created for our grandparents. They had a wonderful Easter dinner for us on Saturday night that I wanted to make sure I had a card to bring. This is using the Stampin up Pink color, the name escapes me now. The rest is a cream color I got from Michael's and Whisper White from Stampin up for the images. I wanted to create a very low color look for the image, The stamp is from an older set from Stampin Up, I believe it is Serene Spring?? I just love the little bunny in that basket! :)
