Since giving birth to my 2 boys, oldest is 5YO and my youngest is 3YO, I haven't been able to craft much at all. Part of problem was the water retention got really bad while I was pregnant, and sitting on any chair other than a couch with my feet propped up, was not a comfortatble way to craft. Then, little toddlers around ink and glue and embellishments and sharp objects..hahaha yeah!

But now, 5 years later, I'm trying to get back into crafting. Here are some photos of current projects I've finished.

Enjoy!

For me, I just loved how this card turned out! I wanted to make it more of of subtle Christmas Card and those two 20's Digi Stamps from Some Odd Girl are so cute together! 1920's Gwen and 1920's Kody!! Before I printed them I stuck Gwen behind Kody. I used some older Stampin Up Christmas paper that was mellow, the light blues and greens were great. The card base is the Stampin Up In Color which is one of my fav blues but I can't remember the name! WOW bad case of CRS I guess. :) Enjoy! And thank you to Some Odd Girl for such great stamps and inspirational activities!

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">I wanted to use my chickies this time for the Halloween theme. Didn't even know where I was to start so I just got out some Halloween paper and started on it! I used the Pumpkin Pie cardstock from Stampin Up for the back, rolled it through my Cuttlebug with the argyle type embossing folder. Aged it with some Chocolate Chip SU ink. Then I ran the nestabilities rectangle die for the frame with some black cardstock, cut out the middle and attached it to the card with some green patterned paper scraps. Next, I used the Martha Stewart spiderweb punch for the corner then drew a spider to the bottom of the frame.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Next, stamped some of the DeNami mini's pumpkins on watercolor paper. Colored them, cut them and popped up the one. I then used my 2 favorite Chickie stamp's, the Pirate and the Superhero and stamped them on watercolor paper as well. I wanted there to be a girl chickie somewhere so I made one of the pirates a "chick". :) Then I used a Stampin Up postage punch to use to pop them up on the side of the card. Finishing touches included stickles on anything shiny on the chickies then liquid pearls along the frame to add to it. There ya have it! Thanks for showing some love on my comment box and please come back later to check out future posts!

The sentiments used are from Stampin Up. The rest is mentioned on the photo itself. With the Some Odd Girl card I used the deconstructed sketch #46 from the deconstructing jen blog. Great place to get inspiration let me tell ya! :)

BTW...the background image for the dragon card was actually a cutout of the upcoming plays from the local theater of arts college. I just loved the colors and needed to use it for something! :)
I had printed a sheet of one of my favorites, Giggle Fairy from Some Odd Girl. I had a lot of fun spending my lunch making a card. Sometimes I get the crafty feeling and need that output! LOL!

I used the sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch blog, sketch #71. (http://deconstructingjen.com) by Lori Boyd as my layout design and there ya have it! :)
SOG&MarkerPop Blog HopSo when I finished hopping for the Some Odd Girl and Marker Pop Blog Hop - click here for that info (I also copied it to the bottom of this blog post), I couldn't resist! I sat down last night and made a holiday card using my Some Odd Girl stamp set, Kaylee's Closet! I used the party hat from the Party Time "expansion" and converted it to a witches hat. I am guessing that the challenge was talking about a Christmas themed card/project but I decided to do mine for Halloween as I am still excited for Halloween before Christmas and am getting in that spirit. But, I made a Christmas themed one with the same basic layout as well. The web punch is from Martha Stewart and the flower is from Stampin Up. The papers are random clippings from my scrap papers. I am pretty sure the Christmas one is from Recollections, as well as the Christmas paper. The Trick or Treat stamp is from Stampin Up. :) And lastly, the flower in Kaylee's hair for Christmas is from Creative Memories. :)
So after I was shopping at Target, I got my husband's body wash and noticed how nice the label was! I had a lot of fun using Tim's techniques for this tag. I didn't have any foil tape so what I found was the backing to the inside of my new SonicCare toothbrush. The cardboard was so nice and shiney that I just thought it could come in handy. Well it did! I got it out and used the same techniches for the rivets and for the lines I just drew them in with my bone folder.

I didn't have the typewriter or any gears on hand but I did have a Stampin Up punch that was gears so I used that on the scrap pieces of shiney paper to make the gears. I also used my Papertrey Ink Shutterbug Special stamp set instead of a typewriter.
Okay here is the final project for the 12 Tags of 2012 Tim Holtz Challenge. Details about the design is in the previous blog. Only extra I added was the words, ribbon, clip, and a bottle cap. The bottle cap I put a piece of vintage cardstock, added a sepia tone glaze, then topped it with the crackle medium which cracked the sepia glaze and it looks pretty neat in person. Silhouette was created with the Bliss Some Odd Girl Stamps. Oh I also used distress stickles on the nestebilities frame. Click the link to the right to see his original tag. :)
I used my Bliss set from Some Odd Girl and colored her in for the silhouette image. Here is a link to Tim's blog about this Month's Tag so you can see the differences.

Here is a little "tutorial" on my silhouette stamp technique:

The best way for me to color around the edges is to turn the paper so I could angle it better. Next I did some aging to the paper. I dry embossed it with one of my stampin up texture folders. I also have yet to get any 3D flower die cuts...one day maybe. In the meantime, useing the same concept as the die cuts, I just hand cut a scallop punch to make it by hand. It is more difficult as the cuts aren't symmetrical but the end results aren't too bad IMO.

So not too bad. I am still adding some finishing touches so I will post the completed tag in another post, but all in all I hope you learned some new techniques here..or at least inspired by Tim's design as I was. The silhouette was my favorite. I am hoping to get some more of the distress supplies soon but it is hard when I need $$. Here is a picture of before and after where the Tag is almost completed.
I appreciate all the comments and am happy you liked the card. Please stop by and comment on some of my others posts as well! :)

Next, this last week I was on a vacation in the mountains, up by Priest Lake, Id. I have very little internet connection so I was unable to visit anyone's blog this past week. I will get back to that here now that I am home.

Since we flew to Idaho, it is not easy to bring along all my fun crafting supplies but I had to bring something since a week with no crafting can drive me insane! SO I brought along my favorite Some Odd Girl clear stamps, a blender pen, water color pencils, some cardstock, acrylic block, and 2 SU stamps pads: basic black and chocolate chip.

So I set to making a few cards while I was up there. The first one I made was my favorite! I stamped the Royal SOG and then drew the trees around her, inspired by the view from the Cabin's deck.
I am not a very good artist but I thought the background came out pretty good for me.

As all I brought was my Some Odd Girl, girl stamps, it turned out to be my Uncle's birthday. As his room in the cabin is in the Moose theme, I hand drew a moose and gave him that card for his birthday. This card will REALLY demonstrate my lack of artistic talent, but hey I tried.

Lastly, I am one of the biggest Huckleberry fans out there, those berries are just amazingly delicious! And this was the first time after many years of being up in Idaho that I got to pick some! My Uncle made the most amazing sauce with them! So in honor of the berries I made a "Huckleberry Mermaid" card. :) I forgot to take a picture of that one but in the mean time here are some huckleberry pictures I took. :)

Boy but I didn't know where to start with this blog hop, as I am a more neutral kinda coloring girl. SO I just grabbed my yellow paper and some old bright paper scraps I had tucked away in my drawer and started piecing. I first envisioned a more fruity card and my idea turned into something else completely! I used the Surfer Mimi stamp that I got at the Carson Convention last time and the little fruit petites along with the grapes. And the "Sending you Sunshine" Stamp that is one of my favorite sentiments of all time!

I cut the patterned paper to size then used the scallop border on the end to accent the purple color more. I hand cut a "Polaroid" box and then masked off the "picture" part. Stamped Mimi, then used a dauber for the sky. Colored her with some bright colored Stampin Up In Colors (from 2 years ago, my favorites!) Removed the masks and popped her up. Then I cut out the fruits and popped them up with dimensionals. Added stickles where I thought they would go and some crystal effects to accent the other. Then used a scrap piece of twinery Ocean color that I had left on the desk from a different project and tied a bow. VOILA!

Sure it isn't a huge amount but it is a manageable amount that is not only starting to slim me down but I haven't felt this good in ages! SO, go me!

Now to the crafty stuff. Since finding Some Odd Girl I have become a complete fan and my favorite SOGgy so far is the Tropical Mae. I just can't get enough of coloring her and adding her to a card with total beachy decor! So when asked to make a card for my friends wife (who has loved my cards from the beginning and even gets teary eyed!) I knew I needed to make a gorgeous card with my favorite Mae. So here ya have it. This card is so special because it was so loved by the earth, it quaked in excitement! (4.4 magnitude and a jumper!)

So this Tropical Mae was made with some decorative beach paper (I think DCW...I'll update the blog later tonight when I confirm). I used Stampin Up cardstock and the Fancy Flower stamp set from Stampin Up and using the Easel Card technique. I colored Mae with Copics (I am starting to improve a tad on coloring, IMO) and added stickles to the colors of the flowers and a gold brad for the middle. The shells on the bottom are genuine common shells found along Huntington Beach, CA. If anyone knows that beach then they probably know that the shells aren't all that pretty. But for me, they fancy up right away when you paint liquid pearls on them! Wow but do they shimmer! The picture doesn't do it justice but there ya have it.

I used Stampin Up cardstock with a loose piece of Margarita paper I got from my local scrapbook store (I don't have the name) and used the scallop border punch. Touched it up with some stickles and liquid pearls after glassy effects on the glasses and drink. The birthday stamp was one I got out of the dollar bin at Michaels. The limes were from the Stampin Up set that I can't remember the name at the moment. :) I loved how this one turned out!
Bookmarks! So my cousins are in town and I wanted to make them a little something and as they love to read I decided to make some bookmarks. I used the Reading Mae and Tropical Mae for these two and the old Stampin Up Hostess set Delight in Life for the flowers with Tropical Mae. I used scrap papers from my stash so I'm not sure where they came from but most likely stampin up. I used copics to color both girls. I really have a hard time coloring the faces. I am still trying to learn how to color the hair better but part of my problem is I only have a few copics. Hopefully when I save enough to get some more I can actually shade better. But we'll see. Enjoy!

So I was asked to make a card set using mostly Cheeky Beach from The Greeting Farm. So I sat down and got to work. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I ended up liking the designs! :) Just to change it up a bit I also used the Cheeky Howdy and Sitting Lovely stamps. I also ended up using a mix of stamps and paper from Stampin Up, DeNami Designs, Some Odd Girl, and Stamps by Judith. I have been on a kick lately of using my scraps rather than making more scraps for cards and that has been a fun challenge in itself. As I finished late last night I haven't gotten a good lighted picture but incase I don't get that chance here is a slight "preview." My "preview" was done by the Camera+ app to fade the colors. So hopefully you will see them in full color when the time comes, as I will also post a picture of the box that they will be in.

So I was hopping around and finally found a tutorial on "no line coloring" here at the Whiff of Joy website. YAY! :) So I was going to use this technique for the layout for this month's Sketch Challenge at Some Odd Girl, but ended up liking it centered more for this color job. Either way though, I stamped the Under the Sea Mae in Sky Blue (that was the lightest color I had) then used a combination of copics and stampin up markers to color her in. I then masked her by stamping her on a large post-it note and cut out and stuck to my colored image. I then used a dauber to color the sea all around her. I used the waves from the Beach Day Buddies stamp set.

After, I did the same no line technique to the shell and the crab. Stamped the sentiment (also from Beach Day Buddies) on the ribbon and pieced together with some sand colored scraps on a blue textured cardstock that was in my scrap stash. I then used Liquid Pearls to accent the border and her shell in her hair. (I <3 Liquid Pearls!)

Enjoy!
I am going to try to upload it via mobile but as the FB App is pretty crappy it probably wont work..so we'll see! :)

For this card, I was instantly inpsired. It was kind of perfect really. I had just watched a movie on the Sundance channel that was Russian, called Mermaid. As anything with Mermaid in it catch's my attention I had to watch it. I ended up really enjoying the movie and Alica. She of course wasn't a real mermaid and as I reflected back on the movie I am pretty certain it follow the original Little Mermaid story only modernized. Here are a couple pictures from the movie and the advertizing. It is hard to find information on the web for me as I don't read Russian, but here is the one link I found of the movie. Here is another, the same place I got the first image. I just did a random search on google images for these two pix from the movie.
So when I found out about the Funday challenge being a "Non Traditional Hair Color" I instantly thought of "Mermaid" since she wanted to be different so she dyed her hair green. So I got out my new favorite Under the Sea Mae and used the dreamscape beach scene for my background (not represented as well in the above picture as it was in the movie but it is close). Then I colored "Alica" with my copics (Sorry I don't have the numbers but if you want it let me know in the comment forum. ) Throughout most of the movie Alica wore a red and white striped shirt so I used that as her fin color. I thought yellow wold be a nice accent for her shell and shell top so I colored those then added yellow Liquid Pearl to them. I used the cloud stamps from the Sunny Mae stamp set and popped them up with dimensional's. All the paper I had was scraps that I don't know where they came from but the purple has a glitter too it. The boarder was cut and punched with my old Creative Memories bubble punch. Then I added some pearls to a few of the holes. Stamped the sentiment and then added stickles to her fin and the clouds. Thanks for checking out my card! :)
So after making the Butterfly Mosaic Card for my friend's mother, she asked me if I could do something for her Dad in the same technique. We discussed and obviously couldn't use a butterfly for a guy. So as soon as she said "Jack Daniels" the image of the card popped in my head. Being a Jack Daniels drinker myself, I knew what we could do.

So I used the squared bottle to trace an image and I then had my template. I cut a piece of black cardstock and inked it completely with versamark and heat set black embossing powder to it. That created a nice base for the label. I used my inkjet copier and just put a bottle of Jack on the scanner and did a black and white "copy" onto white cardstock. I then cut the label in little paper pieces. I adhered the black label to the cut out of Soft Suede SU Cardstock then added a layer of mod podge to the label and started piecing the label fragments. I continued that down the whole label, mod podge, fragments, mod podge (to keep them in place). I tried to keep the fragments in the order of the label just jumbled them along the way. After that I did another complete coat of mod podge to make sure the fragments were secured. I let that dry while I made the "cracked glass" on the rest of the "bottle". I used a ranger glass crackle medium on the soft suede. Set that aside to let it dry. Once all was dry I used the crystal effect on each fragment. Then cut out a piece of black cardstock and folded it for the "lid". And there ya have it. A mosaic bottle of Jack Daniels. Jack Daniels is a Registered Trademark and all rights reserved. This is a work of art using that awesome product! :)
I really loved how easy this was and am set to make another one and add pictures too. This particular mini was made for our monthly ATV meeting raffle. I used some Sand Colored paper for the middle and a K&C Company patterned paper. I used some old off-roading stamps I had along with my SOG stamp sets and voila! Mini album. :)
Card was made for my Grandma who loves the Some Odd Girl Stamps and recently had a heart attack. We still don't know how things will turn out but she is set to have surgery today. I am hoping this will brighten up the hospital for her.
