Just another day for Crafting!!

So after all this inspiration from the TGF Blog Hop, and not being at my craft station at home, I printed my New Years Digi of Anya and made an "office" card on my lunch break. I just had that itch to craft as I am sure most of you feel all the time as well? So here it is, this card is made items around the office. Fluorescent paper and I used fluorescent markers to color along with colored sharpie markers. I used a black permanent marker to draw the ribbon, and added a gold brad in the middle. Anya is colored with the fluorescent markers and colored pencils that I keep in the office. To pop her up, I folded paper and cut that and taped it to the back of her. I happened to have a glue stick in my drawer to stick it all together. I finished it off with a few staple accents and voila!! Enjoy!

The Greeting Farm 3rd Annual Blog HOP!!!

Wow! Welcome to the 3RD ANNUAL GREETING FARM BLOG HOP!!!

I was so excited to be participating in the blog hop! You get a chance to win an awesome prize from The Greeting Farm so make sure you comments here and on the other blogs listed on the Greeting Farm's blog!!

So I decided to use the Mermaid Anya (one of my ultimate favorites) for the the Holiday Theme project/card. So I used Ruby Red, Old Olive, an Wild Wasabi Carstock and some extra ribbon I had lying around. I made a gift box with a coordinating card. The box directions I got from Split Coast Stampers.

On both box and card I used a small holly stamp to add in her hair and used stickles everywhere on her hair and fin. The pearls in her hair was done by Liquid Pearls.

For the card, I used the half pearl accents in her hair and drew in bubbles that I added glassy effects to. I also added the glassy effects to her top. I also sprinkled some glitter over the bubbles and top before it dried. This project was so much fun and I hope you enjoyed them as well.

Matey Anya!!

Hello! Well due to the fact that my comment box is now getting scam posts I have to re add the security features so commenting will be more a of a pain. I kept it without the word puzzle thing as long as I could. Hope you have a great weekend and I will see ya tomorrow for The Greeting Farm Blog hop! Here is another project I worked on in the mean time!

This card was made for one of my awesome friends for her Birthday using the Matey Anya, Tim Holtz Paper Stash, Kraft Resist, and the Beware Pirates Stampin Up set (which I think is retired? I used a little gold keychain ring for her earring and some charms as the coins. I distressed the card with one of my favorite colors, SU Soft Suede!! :)

DeNami Gift Wrapping Blog Hop!!!

Hi Everyone!! I hope your Holiday season is going well and there is crafting going on! You should be hoppin on over from Suzanne Bier's blog http://sparklingscrapper.blogspot.com/, wasn't her project adorable?!? If you are lost then the best place to start is at the DeNami website by clicking here. Below the pictures you will find the next blog after mine. Make sure you leave a comment to be entered in the drawing. Thanks for visiting and thanks in advance for the comments!

For this project I wanted to make blue poinsettia's. I don't see blue ones and so I went with a whole designed line!! First is the gift box. That was made out of the blue cardstock. I then used the 3D pumpkin technique to make the bow. I used the DeNami B99 Sm Poinsettia Blossom, and as the accent I also used one of my favorite stamps the DeNami E148 Puppy in Stocking. So after the box, I made some rossette bows, gift tags (rectangular and tags) and I even stamped the tissue paper to coordinate with the box. Next I made a set of "jewelry" boxes accented with rossette bows.

I such a fun time making these gifts and am using them this Christmas for my gifts and gift cards. Thanks for checking out the blog and I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays!!!

Tri Tip Dinner

So I thought I would post this recipe to my arts and crafts blog because food is a work of art and I don't usually post recipe's. This one turned out pretty delicious so I thought I would share.

Ingredients:

-Tri Tip Roast (don't know the pounds, but it the typical tri tip size you buy at the store, I got mine at Target, their Sutton & Dodge meat is pretty tender.
-2 can's (about 28-30oz) Beef Broth/Stock. (I prefer Swanson)
-Water-fill up the extra space with.
-The Best Barbeque Sauce You'll Ever Taste!! (seriously guys, this stuff is delicious! Click here for the website The Best Sauces-check this out even if you aren't going to make this recipe, it is delicious on all sorts of things! Best of all, if you go to the OC Swap Meet he is there!)
-1/2 Onion. (you can add carrots and potatoes or celery or anything you want, this particular time I only used an onion.)

If you want to make the pasta, all you will need is noodles.

Let me break this down without all my yammering...

Ingredients:
-Tri Tip Roast
-Beef Broth (2 Cans)
-Water
-The BEST Barbecue Sauce
-Onion (veggies)

Prep Time: 5-10 minutes.
Cook Time: 8hrs

Directions:
You can marinate the tri tip if you want, I didn't get a chance this time and it still tasted amazing. Cut up the onion. Set the crock pot out, and line with the crock pot liners by reynolds if you have them (if you don't, get them, they are amazing for cleanup!) Add a portion of the beef broth.  Put the tri tip in the pot, then coat the entire top with the BBQ sauce. Then add the remaining beef broth. Drop in the onion. Add the water until it covers the tri tip completely. Put the lid on and cook on low for 8hrs.

After about 4 hours, I turned the roast over.
After the 8 hours is up, I ladeled out the juice in a pan an set aside.
If you are going to make the pasta, leave the roast in until your pasta is ready. If you have other side dishes, then you can remove it now and serve.  Bring the broth to a boil, then add noodles. Let them cook for about 8-10 minutes, depending on the noodle, then turn off heat and let sit for 2-3 minutes. Remove the tri tip, it will fall to pieces so be aware that it will and serve.

This really made a nice tender, sweet tri tip. The noodles together with it really tasted good. Enjoy!

Oh, and for desert, I made some vanilla ceylon tea, added some Honey Jack Daniel's Whiskey and some Sugar Cookie creamer, YUMMY!!
